Session 1
11:30am EST | Strengthening Cyber Resilience with Cybersecurity Insurance |
Security analysts expect a continued uptick in the number of cyberattacks with ever-changing types of attacks. You may think your company does not have data that would be valuable to cyber criminals; however, they are after all types of information that they can then monetize. Additionally, cyber criminals could unleash a ransomware attack and lock down your systems to get you to pay for the key to recover your systems. We have all heard it before, it’s not a matter of if you will experience a cyber attack, but when. How can an organization best prepare for the impact of a data breach?
Recovering from a cybercrime incident can be expensive. Cyber insurance can be essential in helping an organization recover the costs associated with a data breach. However, a recent study showed that 27% of U.S. executives say their firms have no plans to take out cyber insurance, even though 61% of them expect cyber breaches to increase in the next year.
So how do you decide if your organization needs cyber insurance and how much cyber insurance is adequate? How do you get the most comprehensive coverage for the lowest possible cost? (HINT: It is more than just filling out the cyber insurance application.)
Join this session to learn:
- What costs does cyber insurance cover?
- Do I need cyber insurance coverage and how much do I need?
- How do I get maximum coverage for the lowest possible cost?
- Once I get cyber insurance, is there anything else I need to do? (HINT: Yes)

Now that we’ve all experienced a pandemic, we’ve come to realize that business resilience is more important than ever. But what exactly is resilience, and how do we teach our own companies that it’s so much more than IT Disaster Recovery? And what do a hurricane, vendor breaches, a global pandemic, and conspiracy theories all have in common? I’ll share a few war stories, best practices for improving resilience and providing leadership through response, and focus on a simple approach to incorporating resilience into your own company.

3:30pm EST | Improving Security (or Anything Else) By Building Community |
There are many consistent themes that we hear in security. There is a talent shortage. People are the weakest link. Defenders have to be perfect while attackers only have to be successful once. Burnout and stress are incredibly high. We all feel like lone warriors fighting against an invisible enemy. That needs to change and there is an easy way to get there.
Community. Over my career I’ve realized that we struggle alone and thrive together. This didn’t happen overnight but through the process of building several different communities. This talk will explore that process, how community can benefit you, and how you should go about finding, or even starting, your own community.
